TEDxGeorgetown is a platform for Georgetown-affiliated speakers to share their insight and wisdom. Our theme this year - Ithaca: The Road Less Traveled - really touches on education and achievement as a journey. This year's conference will take the audience through three sessions: Formation, Trials and Coda, all present in extraordinary journeys undertaken.
The title "Ithaca" is based on the poem about Ulysses' journey, the point being that it is the journey that matters, not the destination. In the context of the Georgetown Spirit and as a foundation of a Georgetown education, the event will highlight individuals who have crafted a purpose for themselves and struck out on their own, from social entrepreneurship to advocacy to a successful career, in a way that contributes to the common good.
